The Food

The food is one of The Great House’s greatest pleasures and our extensive menus genuinely cater for all tastes. Breakfast includes everything from fresh fruit to pancakes, smoked salmon and eggs to order. For lunch and dinner we prepare an ever-changing menu of freshly cooked dishes, followed by an assortment of desserts and cheeses. Between meals, too, we serve a parade of refreshing snacks such as mini-ice-creams, sorbets, cookies, cheese straws and marinaded olives.

Our culinary approach is based on sourcing local ingredients wherever possible. We serve locally caught fish and rely heavily on the island’s seasonal fruit. We also prepare and adapt local recipes, and give classic dishes a Barbadian twist by substituting local produce for some of the ingredients. The result is a culinary experience that combines the flavour of Barbados with the best of international cuisine.

Many guests, particularly those with particular nutritional requirements, tell us they have never felt so reassured about the quality of their food when away from home. Our kitchen inspires this kind of confidence because we possess a high level of dietary and nutritional expertise in-house and we use only fresh, healthy and high quality ingredients with no additives.
